The Chef’s Garden has been delivering specialty products with optimum shelf life, quality, flavor and nutrition direct from the farm to chefs for over 30 years. And now available to home cooks. We believe traditional farming methods combined with innovative technology keeps us on the leading edge of the produce business.
At The Chef’s Garden, we are committed to practicing sustainable farming techniques. The foundation of this philosophy is our soil, which we are continually replenishing with nutrients that are depleted over time in order to produce the most nutritionally dense vegetables possible. By replenishing our soil naturally and giving it the time it needs to do so, it delivers to us products of unrivaled quality and flavor.
One of the ways that we revitalize our soil is to let it rest in fallow fields and by planting specific cover crops to enrich it with nutritionally-dense compost. The way we do that is by planting only one-third of our land (100 acres) with vegetables at any one time. The remaining 200 acres are sown with cover crops like Sudan grass, oats and clover that return nitrogen and other nutrients that the vegetables take out.

Plants offer different flavors and textures at every stage of growth, so we’ve developed unique sizing options that let a chef’s creativity soar. Miniature vegetables, herbs, greens and lettuces in micro size pack a punch of flavor that can be used to add complexity of flavors or simply enhance a dish with their aroma, texture and visual appeal. We grow over 2,000 products and we didn't discover any of them — we're uncovering, rediscovering and reintroducing.

The Chef’s Garden’s mission is to shape and redefine sustainable agriculture in our country by creating a template that will attract, inspire and retain young farmers. Through our own farming practices and philosophy, we hope to encourage the next generation of farmers to value, protect and if necessary, restore America’s farmland in order to ensure that our fields continue to produce the safest, most nutritious and flavorful products possible. We hope that our legacy will be the establishment of a national farming model that ensures safe and sustainable growing practices that serve to protect and enrich the consumer for generations to come.
